DRTV: What It’s All About

Television advertising is nothing new. In fact for the last half-century, big business and manufacturers of all descriptions have been trying to sell things using the television. As with anything where there is a dollar to be made, television advertising has taken a new step. More and more, marketing executives are using Direct Response Television (DRTV) as one of the arrows in their advertising quiver. This type of televised advertising is better known as infomercials to those of us who watch television regularly. Experts in the field suggest that there are several reasons to enter this field.

The first of these might be the most obvious. When a company or individual has a new product to introduce into the marketplace and their marketing team has done some research, they will see the undoubted positive advantages to a direct response television marketing program. One of the other pathways involves hiring marketing professionals who will design a campaign for your product or service and take care of all the details for you. In this way, you will receive a royalty and have little or none of the worries and hassles associated with designing and implementing an advertising campaign yourself.

Another reason to choose a campaign is to give life to a product that is performing below expectations. Again, another great path you can take is to find a reputable marketing company who knows the business of direct response television and allow them to handle the campaign for you. Of course there are several factors that you will want to look into before you hire any of these marketing companies. One of these areas to consider is the location of your manufacturing base.

If your product or service is to be sold and manufactured in a place like China, you will want a marketing company with Chinese affiliations. In this way you will be able to have a DRTV campaign that will be effective in both Asian and North American markets. One of the other reasons to choose a direct response television campaign is perhaps the best of them all.
After all the hard work you've put into your product or service, you will undoubtedly want more than the standard 30 second spot to advertise. Here, marketing through the infomercial is the best way to go.
